Wine & Dine Mondays

Take a fun and fantastic culinary wine tour around the world with the Beacon Hill Hotel & Bistro’s Wine & Dine Mondays series. Diners are invited to visit various wine regions without leaving the comfort of their seats, as Cecilia and Tracy Burgis of M.S. Walker act as virtual tour guides, moving from region to region and explaining the history, curiosities, nuances of each selection.

Each of the five events will be held on select Mondays during the Spring, beginning on February 27th, 2012 and ending on May 7th, 2012.  While "voyaging" the globe, the series is not simply about the wine. It is also about the wonderful food. Each four-course dinner showcases four wines as well the culinary talents of our team, led by Chef Josh Lewin, whose menu is designed to best compliment each featured wine and region.

The experience is set in communal seating to encourage conversation, laughter and fun.  For the price of $60.00 per person (tax and gratuity not included), guests are treated to the four wines, the full four-course dinner and Cecilia's and Tracy's good cheer, humor and expertise. Reservations are encouraged as most nights sell out well in advance.

February 27th, 2012 7:00PM

The Many Faces of Pinot Noir...
March 12th, 2012 7:00PM
God made Cabernet Sauvignon, whereas the devil made Pinot Noir."  Find out why Burgundy's own "enfant terrible" is so sought-after, despite being such a capricious grape.

Mountain Wines
April 2nd, 2012 7:00PM
In football, "hang-time" has a very particular meaning.  As it does in basketball!  In wine-making, "hang time" is the length of time grapes are able to remain on the vine before being picked.  Higher altitudes mean longer "hang-times," which assists in the accumulation of acids, sugars and flavors.  For this night, we have selected four wines "with altitude" from very different parts of the world.

Chile - The Conquered becomes the Conquerer!
April 23rd, 2012 7:00PM
Along with Christianity, European vines were brought to Chile by Spanish conquistadors and missionaries during the 16th century.  Even with all that history, it is only during the last twenty years that the international market has truly been interested in Chilean wines. During this dinner you will find out why Chile is now the fifth largest exporter in the world.
