Boston’s TD Garden is the largest multi-purpose venue in Boston and is home to both the Boston Bruins and the Boston Celtics. Opened in 1995, and originally called the Fleet Center, the TD Garden sits only steps from the iconic Boston Garden that it replaced.

Located directly above the MBTA’s North Station, getting to and from the Arena is very easy and during the better weather, a lovely walk from the Beacon Hill Hotel & Bistro. TD Garden hosts an array of events throughout the year so whatever the reason to visit Boston, be sure to check out the box office for upcoming events.

Getting there from the Hotel

Taking an Uber or a Cab? This only takes approximately 10 minutes and will cost about $10.

Want to go as the locals do? The Green line from Park St. Station will bring you right underneath the Arena. Park St Station is located on the far side of the Boston Common and is a 5-minute walk. The train takes approximately 10 minutes but expect it to be a crowded train on game day.

In the nicer weather, you can easily walk over. The walk is pleasant and should take between 20-25 minutes. If you choose to walk, we’d be more than happy to give you directions.

When You Get There

My advice? Get there nice and early. It’s a great way to soak in the atmosphere and see Bostonians gear up to support their sports teams. Hurricane O’Reilly’s has had a makeover and is now known as Hurricanes at the Garden and is my new favorite spot to go before a game. It has a much cleaner look and their new food menu is great pre-game snacking. Hurricanes is only a stone’s throw from the Garden and is located at 150 Canal St.

Short on time or trying to avoid the crowds? Looking for somewhere more low key to meet up with friends?  A great spot is the bar in North Station. It’s never as crowded or busy and easy to find your friends.

TD Garden has all the amenities you would expect from a state of the art Arena. It has plenty of choices for food and drinks. After the event, there are some great bars in the area which are great fun. Some very popular bars are ‘West End Johnnies’, ‘Sullivan’s Tap’ & ‘The Greatest Bar’.

Hoping to grab dinner before or after? The Famous North End is only minutes away. Famous for its authentic Italian cuisine, you are sure to be spoiled for choice.
